Lead Industrial Baker – Artisan-scale, high-output production

Pay Rate: $60K+ per year
Schedule: 1st / 2nd Shift (must be flexible)
Assignment Length: Temp-to-Hire

We’re hiring a Lead Industrial Baker for a client operating in a specialized, high-volume production environment in York County. This position offers $60K+ and is temp-to-hire, providing a strong pathway to long-term placement with a growing New England producer known for premium, small-batch goods.

This is a hands-on leadership role focused on driving consistency, efficiency, quality, and sustainability across batch-based production and thermal processing operations in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.

Typical daily duties:

  • Oversee production flow including batching, processing, conditioning, and thermal production schedules to meet daily output targets
  • Ensure compliance with FDA, GMP, HACCP, and OSHA standards; maintain temperature logs, sanitation records, and production documentation
  • Investigate product variances, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective/preventative actions to reduce waste
  • Conduct quality checks including visual inspections and product evaluations for texture, structure, and finish consistency
  • Train and support production staff on process techniques, equipment use, and food safety protocols
  • Monitor and calibrate production equipment (mixers, processing systems, thermal units) to ensure proper operating conditions
  • Collaborate with leadership on process improvements and new product/ingredient rollouts

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in batch-based food production, fermentation processes, and quality-controlled manufacturing
  • High school diploma or equivalent; ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
  • HACCP and/or PCQI certifications strongly preferred
  • Strong leadership, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work flexible 1st/2nd shifts in a production-focused environment
