Automation Technician – Custom Automation & Robotics
Pay Rate: $26–$32/hr
Schedule: 8:00am–4:30pm, Monday–Friday

Our client in Biddeford is hiring an Automation Technician to support the assembly, troubleshooting, and installation of custom automated systems in a clean, air‑conditioned metal fabrication environment. Typical daily duties:
• Assemble, repair, and maintain custom automation and robotic systems
• Perform automation setup, startup, debugging, and routine diagnostics
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control system issues
• Read and interpret blueprints, job orders, and bills of materials
• Assist with documentation, quality standards, and customer training
• Support field service and machine installations after training period

What we’re looking for:
• High school diploma required; Automation Technology or Mechatronics degree preferred
• Electrical wiring, crimping, cable assembly, and mechanical/electrical assembly experience
• Basic knowledge of PLCs, sensors, motor drives, vision systems, and pneumatics
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical blueprints and perform basic troubleshooting with engineers
• Proficient with hand/power tools, precision measuring tools, and Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Willingness to travel after ~2 months of training; capable of standing 8–10 hours and lifting up to 50 lbs
