2nd Shift QA Technician – Ensure Quality for a Specialty Food Manufacturer!

Pay Rate: $21–$23/hr
Schedule: Monday-Friday – 1pm–9pm will start at 10a-6pm
Assignment Length: Temp-to-Hire

We have an immediate opening for a 2nd Shift QA Technician to join our client’s growing team in Westbrook! This is an exciting chance to work for a specialty food manufacturer known for top‑notch products, fun company‑wide events, excellent on‑site food options, and free products for employees. This position pays $21–$23/hr and is a temp-to-hire opportunity.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands‑on quality work, food science, and a fast‑paced environment while partnering across departments to ensure product excellence.

Typical daily duties:

  • Perform sensory and analytical testing on ingredients and product samples; record and analyze results
  • Conduct audits to ensure compliance with food safety, GMP, SQF, and other quality standards
  • Manage daily product controls and sample retention systems
  • Support production with product holds and releases
  • Complete administrative tasks such as data entry (Excel/TGI), equipment calibration, label verification, and organizing samples for external testing
  • Follow GMP, GFSI, and HACCP protocols in all daily activities

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry preferred
  • 1–3 years of food industry experience in QA, Operations, food safety and food science preferred
  • Knowledge of food manufacturing, QA systems, HACCP, SQF, sanitation, allergens, label laws, and GMPs strongly preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, organization, and computer skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to multitask, stay detail‑oriented, and thrive in a fast‑paced environment
