Typical Daily Duties:

We are hiring a Paralegal with at least 5 years of experience to support a state agencies responsible for licensing and regulatory oversight of numerous professional and occupational boards and programs. This is a high-level paralegal role supporting attorneys and agency leadership on legislative research, rulemaking initiatives, compliance activities, public records requests, administrative complaints, and regulatory matters. Candidates must have 5+ years of solid paralegal experience and be comfortable handling complex legal and administrative work independently.

Important Notes:

  • While this is a work from home position, candidates must reside in Maine

Typical Daily Duties:

  • Conduct legislative research and summarize legislative history
  • Draft responses to Freedom of Access Act requests and perform initial confidentiality reviews

  • Review criminal background check results and obtain additional documentation from courts and criminal justice agencies
