Staffing Firm Managing Director – Southern Maine

Manpower is currently seeking a Managing Director for our Southern Maine market area, including offices in Portland, Biddeford, and Springvale.

The Managing Director is responsible for the effective management and profitable operation of an assigned geography. As a successful Manpower Managing Director, you will:

  • Inspire and lead a team of recruiters to grow the Manpower staffing business and delight clients, associates, and candidates
  • Add staff and market geography as you build your book of clients and associates
  • Understand market and industry trends and translate into clear strategy and business plan that capitalizes on opportunity

This includes overall responsibility for:

  • Achieving profit results consistent with established expectations
  • Effectively managing staff (coaching, training, development)
  • Implementing a consistent business development plan
  • Developing and following a recruiting plan to build a pipeline of candidates
  • Balancing multiple lines of business and delivery channels
  • Maintaining strong client relationships and developing new ones
  • Providing service to candidates and associates to foster candidate attraction and associate retention

Minimum requirements:

  • 3+ yrs experience in a management/leadership role (staffing industry preferred)
  • High school diploma or equivalent (college preferred)
  • Proven track record in business development, hiring, and customer service
  • Ability to produce results through independent leadership
  • Keen flexibility to identify and respond to changes in priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to advise, counsel, guide, and negotiate with others
  • Capacity to effectively and tactfully shift between competing priorities and tasks
  • Ability to travel to local customer and Manpower offices in Maine as needed
